What Does a “Successful” Photography Business Really Look Like?

May 19, 2025  •  Leave a Comment

Let’s talk about success for a minute. Because truthfully, how I define success in my photography business might look completely different from how you define it—and that’s okay.

For some photographers, success is booking back-to-back weddings every weekend. For others, it’s having a steady flow of family sessions and still being home in time to tuck their kids into bed. Some want to open a studio. Others want to travel. Some want to make six figures. Others want flexibility, freedom, and peace of mind.

And guess what? All of that counts as success.

As a mentor, my job isn’t to tell you what success should look like. My job is to help you figure out what it means to you.

We dig into the why behind your business:

• Why did you pick up your camera in the first place?

• Why do you want to grow?

• Why do you want to shift, scale, or slow down?

Once we uncover those answers, we can start building a plan that’s aligned with your life—not someone else’s version of success.

You don’t have to follow the same path as the photographer next door. You get to choose your pace, your style, your goals—and that’s the beauty of running your own business.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of your next move, I’d love to help you find clarity. My mentorship sessions are one-on-one, personalized, and focused on helping you build a business that fits your version of success.

Let’s redefine what success looks like—for you.
